IPA originates in English Ale from the colonial era, which was strengthened and greatly hopped to withstand a long voyage through the tropics to final destination India, hence the name India Pale Ale. Over the time it almost disapeared, but was successfully revived in the 1975 in Californian Anchor Brewing. Thanks to the newly available, aromatic, American-grown hops, it quickly spread to craft breweries throughout the whole US and eventually was brought back to Europe. Amarillo (sp. yellow) hops were discovered at Washington Virgil Ganache farms as small yellowish brines growing beside regular crop. After more than 10 year breeding program, it quickly became one the most popular hop variety. Amarillo flavored beer has unique citrus profile, mainly of botter orange zest and tangerines, with tropical fruits in the background. In our IPA, we combined it with malty backbone of bread crust and müesli tones with pleasantly bitter aftertaste.
