Dunkelweizen is a predecessor of the currently more famous weizenbier. The sole difference rests in a use of slightly darker malts with a fundamental effect on the beer – the color is mahogany brown and the taste is complemented by a crispy bread flavours. It shares taste and aroma of ripe bananas, tender hint of cloves and mild wheat sweetness. The dominating property is nonetheless its freshness, truly remarkable in such a complex and wellmalted beer.
