Milk Stout, as the name suggests, is a Stout enriched with lactose – milk sugar, that is added into a boiling vessel. Brewer’s yeast can not process this type of sugar, finished beer therefore adopts a sweet taste. The origins of this particular style may be found in early twentieth century England. Its taste reminded coffee with cream, so it’s possible to come across the name Cream Stout. For its sweet taste and a low alcohol content it was originaly marketed as a tonic for invalids and nursing mothers. Our Milk Stout has unlike its forebears relatively strong body and thus a much more intense flavor. Sharp roasted notes, however, disappeared and instead, deliciously smooth chocolate-coffee flavor can be found, mainly in the aftertaste. We enriched Stout’s creamy, silky body with eight kg of wild blackberries, handpicked from the hills around Trenčín. They contributed in blackberry liquor aroma and are complementing the sweet taste by notes of fruit of the forest, resembling a chocolate with berries.
